Solution

Hourly Netting & Dynamic Tariff

With hourly netting, every hour of your plant became a separate economic decision. N2N makes that decision for you: it builds a generation plan from hourly market prices and your facility's consumption, then applies it automatically on site. If you have storage, the battery joins the same plan — charging in cheap hours, discharging in expensive ones. It commissions without touching your existing inverter and logger setup, typically in a single site visit.

Hourly Netting & Dynamic Tariff

Features

Key Features

1

The hourly plan is built from market prices and your facility's consumption profile, and updates as conditions change during the day

2

If you have storage, the battery is part of the plan — charging when generation is high and prices are low, supplying the facility when prices are high

3

The plan runs locally on site — the day's schedule keeps working even if the internet drops

4

Your existing inverter and logger setup stays in place; the manufacturer's own monitoring portal keeps running

5

Hour-by-hour value report: how much was curtailed, what the battery did, and what it earned

6

Multi-site portfolios are managed from one screen, each site calculated with its own consumption profile and tariff

How It Works

From price to site, one flow

Hourly netting flow: hourly market prices, a 24-hour plan in the N2N cloud, Pulsar Light applying it on site, existing plant and battery

The control path never depends on the internet: the plan comes down from the cloud, is held on site and executed there.

Challenges We Solve

Plants built on monthly netting economics return less than expected under an hourly regime; payback calculations have to be redone.

Managing generation against price cannot be done by hand — a 24-hour decision has to be made every day, for every site.

Existing sites already run the manufacturer's own controller; replacing it is both costly and risky.

Around midday generation is abundant and prices are low; without storage there is no way to move that energy into valuable hours.

When curtailment is applied, the gain is invisible — the decision-maker has no hour-level comparison.

Capabilities

Detailed Solution Capabilities

Planning Against Hourly Prices

When the next day's hourly prices are published, the facility's consumption profile and battery state are evaluated together to build a 24-hour generation and storage schedule. The schedule is not fixed: remaining hours are recalculated as actual generation, consumption and prices move.

Storage Planning

Where a battery is present, charge and discharge decisions are part of the same hourly plan: energy is stored when generation is high and prices are low, and released when consumption or prices are high. Generation that loses value at midday is moved into hours where it is worth more. On sites without storage the same plan applies to generation only, and expands unchanged when a battery is added.

Local Execution On Site

The schedule is downloaded to the on-site device and executed there. If the cloud connection drops, the device keeps applying the schedule it holds; the control path does not depend on the internet.

Connecting Without Touching the Existing Setup

We speak to the on-site inverter and logger over a local connection. The manufacturer's own monitoring system continues on a separate channel — your existing monitoring stays exactly as it is.

Layered Safety

How the site behaves during a communication loss is defined in advance and agreed in writing. Under any condition, the site falls back to a defined state.

Hour-Level Reporting

For every hour, the plan, actual generation, applied curtailment, battery activity and market price are reported side by side. Monthly summaries export in a format suited to investors and accounting.

Products

Which Products Power This Solution?

The N2N Energy product family works together to deliver this solution end-to-end. Each product's role is described below.

Pulsar Light

Retrofit Energy Gateway

The connectivity and hourly control device fitted to an existing site. It is the default hardware for this solution: it establishes the local connection, applies the hourly plan on site and keeps running the schedule when the cloud is unreachable.

Pulsar

Commercial & Industrial Energy Management

The planning, monitoring and reporting layer for multi-site portfolios. Each site is calculated with its own consumption profile and tariff, and results are compared on a single screen.

Pulsar Edge

Industrial Edge Gateway

Where a battery, multiple generation sources or in-facility load management are also in scope, it adds on-site optimisation and broader protocol support alongside the hourly plan.

Quasar

Utility-Scale Energy Management

On licensed and utility-scale sites where market participation and grid compliance come into play, planning and reporting are run from this layer.
